Abs and Pilates.

So today I didn't run and I SOOO missed it. I know that because I ran over 9 miles on both Friday and Wednesday I needed a break for my poor little legs, so today I did some Pilates that focuses on my abs. So tomorrow I will find out if the video is actually doing something, based on whether or not I can move my core around tomorrow. Either way I hope to run tomorrow. If the weather sucks outside I'll have to run inside but that's okay because then I can watch TV while I run. :)

Woot Woot!

Today was a great run. Yesterday I took the day off so I could rest up after Wednesday’s amazing run. The only thing I did yesterday was shovel the snow in our driveway, which uses completely different muscles than running (or so I told myself), so I could be set to run again today. My hubby had a vacation day today so I had to take advantage of it and get a good run in today.

I ran 2 hours and 5 minutes and ran 9.8 miles, jus short of the 10 mile mark. I could have kept going but I wanted to save something fun for the next time. So far this week I’ve run 43km and since January 1st I’ve run 179.25 km so I’m feeling really good about this whole half marathon in April. That’s still 3 months away so I am really excited about the whole thing. I’m going to rock it!

I always feel great when I run, and even better I’m half way through my baby weight loss. I gained 43lbs with my baby girl, and after six weeks at home I had 18lbs left so I started weight watchers on January 1st and now I’ve lost 9.2lbs already and only have 8.8lbs to go to lose the whole thing so I’m feeling great. I even joined the x-weighted challenge in January and it’s tracking my weight loss and my fitness goal is obviously my half marathon. I love having all these places to record my progress.

So today to celebrate being more than half way to my first weight loss goal, aka my pre-pregnancy weight, we went out for lunch and I got to have French Fries and gravy. Mmmmm. But I balanced it with a wrap sans sauce, and a glass of water. It was just delicious and my baby was so well behaved the whole meal. What more could you ask for!

New Record!

Yippy! Today my break from being a mommy was my time on the treadmill. Lillian didn't want to nap and had three hissy fits that lasted for a little bit, and she had a huge poo that required a bath because it went everywhere, including in her arm pit. Don't ask me how it got there, but after all that, my husband came home late, but she went down for a nap before he got home so I could start my run then. Today I beat my all-time record, and managed to hit 9.2 miles this run after hitting 8 miles during my last run. I feel amazing. It took a while, meaning 2 whole hours, and I could hear my daughter crying for food but I forced myself to keep going because I knew there was lots of pumped milk in the fridge and my husband could feed her and he did. Apparently it took 8 oz to fill her belly. A three month old that eats 8 oz seems crazy to me!

But I did the run and feel great. Part of me wanted to just keep going, to run forever, but I had to pack my husband's lunch for tomorrow, and cuddle my baby before she went to bed, and watch her so my husband could shovel the snow outside. In the end I decided to stop at 2 hours, and will run again on the weekend when I have more time. My husband is taking Friday off this week so we'll have an extra day to do stuff. Hopefully the weather will warm up a bit, and we will be able to run outside. This feels like -12 to -18 with 30 km/hr winds is keeping me inside but Saturday looks nice, sunny at least, with only -8 so I'm hopeful.

Next time I run a big run I hope to hit 9 miles again, though I think I'll wait a while before I aim for 10 miles. Even with all the craziness I would have to say that today was a great day. Now I'll go to sleep and dream of the eggs and toast I'll eat for breakfast.

Long day.

So the past few days have been long. I love my baby with all my heart but sometimes it's nice to be able to hand her to her daddy and have a break for ten minutes without listening to make sure she's okay on her mat, or in her swing, etc. This weekend my husband went to visit my father-in-law and grandmother-in-law so he was gone for most of Saturday and part of Sunday. The time he was here Sunday was mostly spent making dinner and doing chores and other work. Now today is Monday and he had to work late so I'm alone at 10:15pm and did everything for our baby again, including bathe her when she spit up on herself. She's sleeping peacefully now but I didn't manage to do half the things I had hoped I would do today. Though I did do a few that were not on my list too.

I ran today but had to do it in two parts because 25 minutes into my run Lillian woke up and started to cry. So I got off and later on did another 45 minutes. My upper thigh is sore on my left leg so I may take tomorrow off. It also depends on what time I get home. I have to go visit my work tomorrow to visit people and take care of some things around town so once those are done if I have time I may do something at home. Right now the weather outside sucks too and it is supposed to snow until Sunday so I may not run outside this week until the weekend. We'll have to wait and see what the weather has in store for me!

Impressive Effort.

So today I ran outside again with Lillian and while I didn't beat my best time 46:21 for the 5.2km run I hit 47:11 and considering there were 30km/hr wind and pouring rain and really cold I am more than thrilled. It was a great workout and I did a large portion of it without having to stop and walk. :)

I also weighed myself today for the X-weighted challenge I joining at the begining of the month. Since January first I've lost 6.8lbs and only have 11.2lbs to go until I hit my pre-pregnancy weight, which funny enough is about how much my three month old weighs right now. I have to lose my daughter's whole body weight. After that I plan to keep going but losing that will make me feel great because it's also my wedding weight.

Go me. Like the post office I go out in rain, or shine, but snow, that I won't do because I worry Lillian will get cold!

Day of Rest.


Today I took a day off of working out, and I'm very much enjoying it. My girlfriend visited me for a bit, I did some house work and had some silly fun with Lillian. All in all it was a great day!

I feel as if I can fly!

So today my baby was a sweet little fussy baby all day and it started to wear me out a little bit. My husband had to work late because he had to take my dog to the vet in the morning, since the baby needed me, and we ate dinner together, and it was already after 8pm. I took the baby and he ran on the treadmill first, while I snuggled Lillian, changed her, fed her and put her to bed Steve ran. As he was finishing I was coming out of the nursery and Lillian was sleeping like an angel. For the first time in a few nights she went to bed peacefully and it was a pleasure.

Once he was done it was my turn. I wasn't sure if I could do it since it was 10pm and I was tired but I told myself that I'm a mom now and I can't always do things when I want or how I want because mom's don't get a choice. So I sucked it up and ran late at night (it also meant I could keep my breastmilk in the fridge and not have to use it. I pump it to use but for some silly reason I hate to use it up. I think I just don't like having none in the fridge.) and I did amazing! I managed to run 8.0 miles, in 1 hour 44 minutes and burned 1124 calories and I can say that while my treadmill stops at 99 minutes the calories go to four digets. I'm excited that I got to find out our treadmill hits four digets in calories and broke the 8 miles marker.

So while my legs feel like jello and I will probably have to take a day of rest tomorrow, I feel alive and almost as if I could fly! Life couldn't be better for my little family right now and I'm loving every minute.

When Horrible becomes the new Easy

If you had told me a month ago that I would be able to run over 7 miles at a time and around 20 miles weekly I would have called you crazy. Back in 2009 I would run 2.2 or 2.4 miles and be exhausted after I was done. The very idea of running 4 or 5 miles was horrifying to me. Running was just something I did because we had a treadmill at home and I feel I need to lose some weight.

Now after just 21 days I am totally addicted to running and am aiming for 13 miles for my half marathon. Today I ran at 4.6 miles/hr for literally an hour and I could sing along with my Ipod the whole time. I only stopped becaues it is supposed to be a low impact day for me and I thought 65 minutes was enough. In just three weeks I’ve pushed myself into a place where running is something I really look forward to and enjoy doing. I love to run outside with Lillian and inside I watch TV or just think to myself. I love that I have a goal and am doing so well to achieve it. Now I just have to find the right balance of running and eating so that I don’t have issues with hydration and low glucose levels when I hit 10 miles but that’s okay, all in good time. Plus, I know my marathon book I bought will help with that. So now I go to sleep with a smile on my face and dream of my next day’s right.

World's best baby.

So I officially have the world's best baby. She really doesn't cry a lot, she is always so happy and she has been sleeping through the night (minus the odd exception) since she was three weeks old. Today she reminded me why she's my angel baby. Though she woke up before 7am today instead of her usual 8:30am she then went back to sleep from 8am until 11:30am giving me lots of time to run on the treadmill. Today I didn't run as hard since I did a major run yesterday for I still feel great after 45 minutes of jogging and going 3.2 miles, and being done before noon is an amazing feeling.

So the rest of the day was spent cleaning and playing with my baby. She truely is a wonderful little girl and I love her very much.

I maxed out the treadmill

So today I ran really hard on our treadmill and actually went as far as I could on it. After 99 minutes it stops. So sad. It means when I practice my 13 miles I'll have to stop 1/2 way through and restart because my treadmill will get sad and stop. I feel great though. I ran to its max and hit 7.3 miles and it was awesome, once it got going. I got upset because I had to keep stopping the first little bit to adjust my laptop because our speakers were having issues but my husband made me feel much better.

So today I once again ran further than before and according to my chart of where I should be in my training now I'm kicking butt! I wasn't supposed to hit 7 miles until the first week of February so I am way ahead. That makes me feel great because I have lots of extra time just in case something comes up, like life, and I have to miss some days. I also had the major munchies today and it took all my willpower to not eat half the pantry, but my stir fry for dinner was great, and after my run I treated myself to a half bagel with cream cheese to refuel my body.

Now I'm resting and waiting for my munchkin to go to sleep so I can get a nice long sleep too. Let's see if she cooperates for me! :)

Another outside run!

Today I planned well and got my butt out the door before lunch and Lillian and I got in a fabulous run! We went 6.7km and did it in 1 hour 4 minutes and 57 seconds. All I have to say is too many hills around here, but she loved it. Lillian slept the whole run and then slept another two hours once we got home. In fact she's still asleep. I had time to shower, eat lunch and rest up a bit and now I'm going to go do some dishes while I wait for Lillian to wake up and need feeding.

So now my legs feel like pudding but that's okay they'll be good and strong tomorrow for another treadmill pushing run!

History.

In the comments of a previous post someone asked me if I've always been a runner.

I have been heavey since grade 11 and in first year university I started to run when I was stressed from school and couldn't sleep. I was quite the night owl and would find myself in the residence gym at 3am jogging with my thoughts. I did some serious running the summer between first and second year of university. I typically ran between 4 and 9 km depending on my work schedule. I worked two jobs, one at my step mother's bakery the other at my step sister's pizza place. One went 8-4 everyday the other 6-12am some days. When I had a bit of time I did 4km, and when I didn't work I did 9km. I loved it, and felt really great, but once I got back to school, I lived off campus and it just didn't happen anymore.

After I got married I kept working out but just didn't have any real passion for running. I walked to school and work after I graduated and got a full time job on campus but that was it until we moved into our first house. We are of the motto buy your second home first (thanks mom for telling me that since I was 6) and have a lot of space for a couple with one new baby. My husband always loved running and I found that I hated going to the gym but loved running once I got there. We figured if we bought a treadmill it would save me time and let me work out late at night, which I still enjoy. We bought a lifefitness and had it delivered to our place and I love it. I like to read or watch tv on the treadmill and it lets me do that. I started to run to get a quick workout in while trying to loose the weight I gained after we got married. It went great and worked and in 6 months I was down to my wedding weight, only to find out I was pregnant (which was planned).

Now I have a beautiful baby girl who is 3 months old and need to lose my baby weight to get back to my wedding weight and then a bit more. I ended December running an average of 2.2 miles and taking about 30 minutes. I was my goal to just loose the baby weight but after watching a lot of x-weighted while nursing I figured I should have a goal. On Dec 31st I spontaniously decided to run a half-marathon in Waterloo as my new year's resolution. My husband loved the idea and said he'd do it too. So I started to train seriously, and since January first have gone from running 30 minutes to my 95 I did yesterday, and from 2.2 miles up to 7.1 miles. I love the way I feel when I run and I know it's a great way to stay healthy for my daughter so I plan to keep it up.

I find having the marathon goal is keeping me on track so far, and gives me something to strive for. I even bought a book on it, to keep my safe. Now I just have to find the time to run while taking care of my daughter but since my husband is so supportive of my running it's pretty easy. I'm really lucky that way. So today there was no running because life got in the way and that will happen, but it just means that tomorrow I will kick some butt and either run the new, longer outside route I found, or kick my treadmill's butt!

I'm so addicted to running!

Today was great! I bought a book on running a marathon at chapters thanks to a special friend who gave me a chapters gift card for my birthday. I’m thrilled with it and it will help me know what to eat and how to train without hurting myself.

I have been watching a lot of food network online while nursing Lillian and so decided that I would make homemade tortellini today and my husband decided to help. He made spaghetti and linguine and I did ricotta, goat cheese and spinach tortellini and it tasted amazing. I really needed it after my run today. The day off and run outside yesterday was great because today I really pushed myself and I not only beat my old distance, I passed the 7 mile mark. I will be running a 13 mile half marathon and I ran 6.5 miles in 1 hour, 24 minutes and 48 seconds! So I can totally run the marathon in less than three hours which is my goal. Yippy! I know I’ll be sore tomorrow so I may have to do something that isn’t running but I felt so alive when I ran today. I felt like I could keep going and I only stopped because I felt my baby needed me, and she did. She had finished her 6 oz bottle and was still hungry so I had to feed her. I did have to laugh because my treadmill only goes up to 99 minutes and I hit 95 today so next time I’ll have to set it to 95, record the stats when I hit 7 miles and them run more. I am a bit sad because the treadmill says I burned 985 calories and I really wanted to know if it goes back to 1 or if it had a fourth number for calories. Well guess I have something to strive for next time!

A Dream come True!

When I was 9 months pregnant I had a wonderful dream that I was jogging with my daughter in a jogging stroller and my husband beside me with our dog. It was really wonderful and we were all smileing. Then I woke up and realized I was still 8 days overdue with my daughter and almost cried! Today that dream came true.

My husband worked from home so I made and brought him his lunch and then he used his lunch hour to run with me on my 5.2km route! He took the dog, I took the stroller and every 10 minutes we switched! The first time I ran the route it took 53:31 and the next time it was 49ish and this time it was 46:21 so we had a huge improvement but it was wonderful to run with him and our daughter even if it was horribly muddy. On the weekend we'll do it again and aim for the 6.4km route! The only sad thing was that I had to wear a horrible neon orange vest that my mom bought me and insisted I wear. I just don't like the velcro on it because my stop watch, sweat rag and mittens kept sticking to it.

I'm tired but my baby is down for a nap and I ran with my husband! I couldn't be happier and now I get to enjoy my cup of tea before I have to go start dinner. Life is good.

Day of Rest.

So today is my first day of real rest. Usually on a day of rest I do some other kind of exercise but today I will take the day off. I will walk my dog and that's it unless I'm feeling better this evening. Right now my legs are really sore and I figure that since I've been doing some real physical activity every day since January 1st I should take a break and have a real day off. I'm excited especially since I'm meeting a friend for coffee tonight to show off my baby girl.

So today it's a short post, but I'm resting so it's okay. I just have to make sure to eat extra healthy today since I won't have a workout to offset any naughty snacking.

Long night.

As sometimes happens with kids, last night was a long night. My 3 month old has hit that point where when you're holding her she'll try to dive out of your arms and my husband didn't know this and she dove out of his arms and smacked her head on his desk. I heard the thunk and shriek from across the house and it wasn't pretty.

Today there is no mark, bump or anything, and I think her high pitched screams were more out of fear and confusion but for me it was aweful. It took me a while and a bath to calm her down (my baby loves her bath). But being I'm a first time mom I researched what to do about a head bump and I read I was supposed to check her every few hours when she goes to sleep to make sure her colour and breathing are good. She was lively and fine before bed but she didn't go to sleep until 11pm so I was up at 2am to check on her and she was up for breakfast at 5am. Needless to say I'm quite tired today.

I hope she manages to nap a lot today to make up for the lack of sleep she got, and that I can run because here the wind is gusting up to 35km/hr and I can't run with her in that because we run in the country which means lots of open fields and wind.

Busy Busy day.

So today I went out of town to visit my girlfriends and their babies today with my baby. I love our baby playdates and my mom laughs that we are a tostitos commercial. It's just nice to get together with such great friends who are also moms and compare war stories and get great advice from other young moms who know what we are going through. The only bad part is that we live about an hour to an hour and a half apart so we only get to see each other occasionally and it's lots of driving. But since we all had a baby within a month, it's just been loads of fun.

I wasn't sure if I would have been able to do any sort of workout since I wouldn't get home until dinner time but my husband, Steve, took our daughter and I got to run, but before I could start she decided it would be a good idea to try to jump out of his arms and smack her head on his desk. The scream that followed was horrible but she calmed down soon enough and was back to her normal self in no time. We even tried out the Exersaucer for the first time today, though her legs are a little bit too short to sit correctly in it. She didn't mind though and seemed to have a lot of fun.

In the end my little baby was calmed and I managed to hit the treadmill. In 70 minutes I hit 5.4 miles and just beat yesterday's run time. I feel good that I managed to visit my friends and run on my treadmill. Depending on what the weather is like tomorrow, I may try to run outside on my new route with Lillian but only if it's not too cold, and remember if I run outside I have to wear my mom's crazy orange vest too! That should be a funny photo!

Crushing my expectations!

Today I had high hopes of hitting 5.0 miles on my treadmill within 65 minutes. Instead I managed to hit 5.3 miles in 70 minutes. I feel fantastic. I was blessed to have a baby who wanted to nap for two hours today. Long enough to let me get settled and run for 70 minutes, then take a shower and eat my sandwich before she woke up and needed a new diaper. I am truely blessed! Now she is playing on her mat while I eat my salad. She doesn't seem to be hungry yet so rather than fighting her I'm going to wait for her to scream for it since she seems to be more interested in playing with her food today than eating it, and when you're nursing that gets a bit frustrating.

Tomorrow will be a challenge to get exercise in since I'm going to visit my girl friends and their babies and it takes an hour and a half to drive there and back so all of Lillian's napping will be done in the car. Maybe Steve can take her for a bit so I can at least do yoga or run for a bit. I may not beat my 5.3 miles tomorrow but I will at least do something to get my butt in gear.

So this weekend I joinged the X-weighted challenge. I'm very excited because I've watched all 3 seasons online while running on the treadmill and it actually inspired me to want to run the Waterloo half marathon because I figured having a goal for when I run would be better than just running for nothing. And then when I found out X-weighted was doing an online challenge I got very excited. So I joined and posted my before photo which is NOT going on my blog here (at least not until I have a great after shot), and did all my stuff. I'm 190lbs now and it says I should get down to 150lbs which is where I hoped to be after I lose my baby weight and a bit more. So let's see how much I manage to lose by training for my half marathon and after that I'll have 10 more weeks of the X-weighted challenge to drop the remaining!

Day of Rest.

Today was my baby girl's baptism and it went wonderfully even though she cried during the first half of the mass and then during the actual baptism. It was pretty funny but our priest didn't mind so it was good. A lot of our family came out for it, so that was nice and really meant a lot to us. And for those we love who couldn't be there, I know they were there in spirit even if we couldn't see them, and they'll be forever watching over Lillian for the rest of her life.

I couldn't run today because I was told by some very reliable sources that I need some days off when I run. I knew it would come, but I thought I could get away with it until I hit like 7 or 8 miles, but apparently not. So today I did Pilates. It's been a while since I did them so it was pretty tough for me. Silly but I know I'll kick butt at it soon enough. I'm going to do Yoga and Pilates on my days off since I only get to run 5 days a week now. I'm hopeing to run again tomorrow, providing it isnt too cold.

Another Great Run!

So today I ran my 5.2km outside route again. It was -12 degrees outside and a bit more windy than last time but I still managed to beat my time by 2 minutes and 50 seconds! I'm so pumped! Lillian even slept the whole time this run so that was great, and I found an old MP3 player than runs on one a AAA battery so I don't need to worry about my Ipod dieing because I just use the MP3 player and take and extra battery with me. Next time I run I will have to increase the distance and run the next route which is 6.4 km long.

I had my husband take the photo of me so I can remember how great I feel. It was long and exausting but I'm proud and tomorrow is the baptism so I may take a day off for that, though I may not. We'll have to see how I feel after all the events of the day, especially since Tuesday and Wednesday are both going to be busy days as well.

Wednesday post!

So this post is a day late because I was too tired last night to get up and write it so pretend it's Wednesday. :)

Today's run went great. My mom took Lillian for the time so I didn't have to worry about her waking up or anything. I ran in the morning too which is something I'm going to need to get used to since the marathon starts at 8am on the 25th. I'll have to work on getting the jogging stroller out in the mornings so my lungs get used to the cool morning air. I managed to run for 55 mintues with a 5 minute warm up and cool down, so a total of 65 minutes and made it 4.5 miles which is about 7.5kms. I'm really starting to think it might be possible to do this whole mini-marathon thing.

The jogging stroller arrived on Tuesday morning and it was literally a snap to put together. I now have the greatest jogging stroller and can't wait to take it out for a spin, though the -4 through -10 degrees we've been having this week makes me a little concerned about taking Lillian out in that freezing weather!

Broke 4 miles!

So I ran extra hard today and broke the 4 mile mark two weeks early. By the 10th I was supposed to be running 3 miles and by the 17th I was supposed to hit 4 miles but today I ran 4.2 miles in one hour. I'm super pumped even if my legs feel like absolute Jello! Tomorrow I'm going to take a running break and maybe try to do come yoga so my poor legs get a break.

Lillian is being her cute self. My mom came up today for the baptism on the weekend so I'll have someone to watch Lillian for me while I work out and we are going to try and take Lillian on some outings to the library and grocery shopping and such.

Tomorrow my stroller arrives. Exciting!!!!

Three days in a row.

Today was great. I managed to run 3.6 miles in 50 minutes and feel great, though my legs are a bit like jello. I'm excited to hit 4 miles soon but starting to wonder how often in a week I'll be able to run the full amount when I run for a long time, such as an hour and a half or two hours with a little baby. I'm hopeful that as I run longer, Lillian will be sleeping longer and able to sleep through my run. Otherwise I'll have to wake up really early and run before Steve leaves for work while Lillian is asleep or at night after he gets home. I don't like the idea of having to get up too early when my baby sleeps from 10pm to 8am pretty much every night, but I'll do what I have to do.

Today we tried to walk Pica and take Lillian in her Snugli and hike in the bush behind our house. It didn't go over very well. Lillian was too cold and screamed most of the time, and Picasso wouldn't walk properly and had to be stopped every few minutes. Next time Steve and I agreed that we'll use Picasso's haltie whick keeps her much better behaved and Lillian will be bundled up more, though with the amount of layers she's wearing I don't know if that is physically possible but I'm sure it will work, though with the jogging stroller we'll be able to run on the bush trails and once you get there the wind should be better.

Tomorrow my mom arrives for the week before Lillian's Baptism on Sunday, so hopefully I'll still be able to run a lot this week.

Combo blog.

We did so much today it's great! We went to look at new chairs at another store but our first store is still the best deal. Now we just need to see another store and then we'll go to the best of the three.

We also went to Walmart and Steve got the rest of my Christmas present which since it was late (not that he doesn't like to shop for me but the gift I wanted - external harddrive - was cheaper after Christmas so I asked him to wait and he had a lot of money left over in my budget) is all fitness oriented. I got a great stop watch for when I start running outside and some ankle weights for when I lose weight and want to burn more calories by adding some more weight and a day planner to use in tracking my progress for the marathon from day to day.

The other exciting thing we got was a jogging stroller so we can really run with Lillian outside. We looked on classified adds but couldn't find one and since we want to start going outside with her very soon we needed one now. We've ordered a Baby Jogger stroller and they are delivering it on Monday. I'm very excited because it works on any surface (even sand) and has 12 and 16 inch wheels so it can make it through the snow in our neighborhood right now.

So for my run today I did 3.2 miles in 45 minutes and managed to run for 30 full minutes at 4.6 miles per hour, so that was a big thing for me. Tomorrow or Monday will have to be my day of rest since I'm only planning to run a max of 3 days in a row without a rest. Hopefully I'll have the strength to run tomorrow too.

Marathon, what me?

So Steve and I have decided to run the Waterloo Mini-Marathon on April 25th. It's a total of 21kms or 13 miles and starts at Brectel Park in Waterloo. We are really excited about it, http://www.waterloomarathon.com/. Steve has always wanted to run a marathon so for him this is a dream come true! For me it's great to be able to share this with him, to set a great example for Lillian about healthy eating and exercise while she's small. I also would like to get back to by pre-pregnancy weight and lose a bit more than that before I go back to work. So I have to lose 18 more lbs to hit my pre-pregnancy weight which isn't that bad since I gained 43 lbs during my pregnancy.

My plan is to run on our treadmill to start training. From Jan 3 - April 24 I have 16 weeks until the marathon. I typically run 2.1 miles for my workout, so today I pushed myself harder and hit 3 miles. For the next 11 weeks I'm going to try to add 1 mile to my runs and give myself 2 weeks of safety time and then I'll have 3 weeks to work on running the 13 miles faster. Having hit 3 miles to easily today is really exciting for me.

The other big thing with this marathon is that Steve and I need to invest in a jogging stroller so we can practice outside with Lillian. The annoying part is most are set up for babies who are 6 months or older and she's only 2.5 months so she's not strong enough to hold herself up the way she needs to. To keep her safe we're probably going to invest in a stroller that allows you to attach a car seat to it so we can run with her in her car seat and keep her safe. Tomorrow we're going to a store in Waterloo to look at jogging strollers and since they have their 2009 ones on sale to get rid of them, we just may walk out with one. Here's hopeing we get a good deal and can start taking her out on country roads in the lovely snow we have in KW!

My Monkey

Lillian is the light of my life! She's now 2 months, 2 weeks and 1 day old and is doing crazy things already. Today she has been very sleepy and wants to nap all the time, which means Steve and I have got a lot of things done. She's holding her head up all the time now, enjoys sitting in her high chair, and loves to cuddle. Lillian is one of those nosey little babies who wants to see everything all the time, so carrying her around and putting her up high makes her really happy. We joke that she hates to be horizontal. She's starting to make sounds a lot now that sound like actually letters or word bits. She's wiggling all the time now and has so much fire and spunk that I laugh everyday with her. I can't wait for our adventure to continue through 2010 and beyond!

Blogging!

So I decided to start this blog just for the fun of it. I want to write and track my baby girl's life over the next 9 months while I'm home with her and to remind me of how really good I have it with my baby.

She is the light of my life and the reason I want to run a mini-marathon in April. I have the best baby in the world. She's always happy, smiles constantly and has slept through the night since she was 3 weeks old. To make sure that I am healthy and set a good example for her I want to run a mini-marthon in April and use this blog as a journal for it, so one day if she ever asks why I did it, I can tell her to set a good example for her and show her how much hard work and effort goes into something like this.
