Still Running and Loving it!

So I've been thinking a lot lately. First a quickie update. I saw my OB today and he said everything looks good for the baby and that I look the right size for 19 weeks and that everything (down there) is perfect. So now I'm a happy mommy and they are going to track my iron very carefully this pregnancy since I had so many problems with it last time. I saw my family doctor yesterday, for my back, and my iron is only 1/2 what it was when I found out I was pregnant and 1/4 of what it was in the summer, so I'm moving up to two iron pills a day now. My family doctor will be tracking my thyroid levels so I have to get lots of blood work done but no biggie. It's all worth it! Next week I'll have ultra sound photos!

So since everyone agrees that I can keep running with my sore back I did my first run for this week tonight. I want to do 3 a week and tonight was day 1! During the week I only have to do 20-30 minutes and 1 run, and on weekends I do 2 runs of 30-60 minutes. If I manage my next runs this weekend it'll be my third week in a row running three times. The wonderful news, this running is slowing down my weight gain! I went from an average of 10lbs a month for November and December to only 1.5lbs so far for January which rocks!

My photo is just a funny shot of me in my lovely Horror Hill Running shirt showing off all my metals and lovely board I've been working on with all our metals, bibs and race photos! I didn't get to put up many photos lately and thought this one would make people smile. I love the baby belly I've gotten now. And I can feel my little one move which is great. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the comic I've posted below. I stole it from a pregnancy website and it just KILLS me!

The other thing I've been doing a lot of lately is thinking and planning. If you haven't figured it out yet, I am quite the planner. I keep thinking of what race I can run first after this baby is born. I'm trying to figure out how long I realistically have to wait before getting back to running and then how much training I'll need for a 15 or 21km run of my choosing. I'm also starting to think about how much training it'll take for me to realistically train for my first full Marathon which I am hoping to do in 2012. I've been reading Run Like a Mother and I love the book. It makes me feel super inspired and is good to know that I am not alone, but when I look at how busy my life is I wonder how I'm going to be able to do everything I want to do! I want to be a loving mother, a supportive wife, physically fit (and preferably hot), and have a career. I just don't know how I can do that with only 24 hours in a day, unless I just stop sleeping. But I guess moms do it everyday and if it matters that much to me, I will find a way!
