Cutie updates!

Okay so here are some updates of my monkey! Later this week I'm going to write a rant about stuff.

Photo 1! Lillian has started to play with her tongue. I have no idea why but it's funny. She sticks her fingers in her mouth and tugs on the tongue. It makes me laugh and she's funny.

Photos 2! Lillian is going after Steve's computer. She's almost tall enough to reach the computer. As soon as she does he's in trouble.

Photo 3! Lillian playing with her corn popper. I wanted to buy her one and Steve suggested we wait ( we were at Zellers and heading to value village later on that day) and when we got there they had the corn popper, the plastic piano, and more fridge letters all for less than the corn popper would have been new. And the used one still had the original tag on it.

Photo 4! This sexy photo is the sight I get to look at every time it's my hubby's turn to do the dishes. When I'm having a hard day I have to remember that I have this handsome man who loves me and is always ready to do what he can to make my day better. He makes me feel blessed and does what he can to help me and show me he loves me. Plus he's really nice to look at which doesn't hurt. :)

Back to 3 Weekly Runs.

Okay so despite being sick for two weeks I have managed to pull up my socks and get my butt back on my treadmill this week and got my 3 runs in. Woot, go me! That gives me 12km this week of running and I think I may have found my ideal pregnancy treadmill workout. I keep having to decide between actually working up a sweat and having the safe heart rate for the baby, but today I think I found it. I tried running on Random on my treadmill, which is a sort of hill run that occasionally goes flat and I rocked it. I did a short 2 minute warm up and cool down at 3.5 mph and then I jogged at 4.0 mph. This is my walking pace usually but when you are at an incline of between 1.5 and 4.5 I actually have to job to keep up with the belt. So that was great that I could keep my heart rate low (yes I checked it regularly) but still work up a sweat. I think I may try to keep this up for the next while. One other advantage is that as I get larger my belly pulls me forward which isn't so bad on a hill since it actually helps.

So now I feel awesome and hope that I can keep this up for the next while. I also think I have come up with a few interesting (though sometimes ventie) blogs for the next little while. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

All is well.

Okay so I saw my OB today and everything is great with both me and the baby. Baby had a great heartbeat of 153 and I got to hear her so that made me happy. I'm also happy about how great my OB is. There is something amazing about seeing a doctor where you are in and out in 17 minutes. Yes that is right, 17 minutes to sign in, see the nurse, wait for the doctor in the room, see the doctor,  hear the heartbeat, book a new appointment and get back in my car! How crazy is that. Seriously, my doctor has been doing this for ages (he's a grandpa) and according to my husband's friend (who we just found out is expecting his first baby in April with his wife - congrats Charles) is a big wig at our hospital. Apparently he's the head of obstetrics. I don't know if that's true but he's been doing it for a long time so I'm happy that my doctor knows what he's doing. Plus he's been an OB since before my hubby and I were even born.

So I'm really happy that my little monkey is doing well and that we have a name for our new little princess.

Go Me!

Look to the side at my little widget. Yes that's right, I managed to run today despite being a bit hormonal and having a sore back. I managed to even go further than 5km today. Woot! So I got to run despite feeling tired and a bit out of sorts. At the end of the run I stopped because I was starting to stand on the side rails more than I was actually running so I figured it was time to stop. But the point is I did run! So now I burned off some of the calories that I ate in muffins. Mmmmmmm muffins!

24 weeks 4 days pregnant.
Okay so now I am starting to think of baby names for my little monkey to be and I think my hubby and I have settled on one. We have picked Katrina for the first name and Elke for the middle name. Elke is my mother's name, since Lillian has my mother-in-law's name for a middle name I thought we should use my mother's name this time. My mother was flattered by that, and the first name my hubby picked. It's German meaning "pure" so I thought that was nice since I'm German. So now I can talk to my baby and call her by her name. We also have the boy name just in case. We were told this one is a girl too but I was supposed to be a boy, and I am the second born so I thought we should have a boy name just in case this baby pulls and Alice and comes out the other gender.

Making the Weekend Worth it.

So here in Ontario tomorrow is Family day and I've been making the most out of my weekend. For starters my mom and step-father came up to visit with us and had a lot of fun with Lillian, they even babysat while we went out to dinner last night on a little date. I really enjoyed having a meal out with my husband where I got to eat hot food, have adult conversation and dress pretty. It was a great time. Then today I baked up a storm and then went out for dinner with the family at a local restaurant and enjoyed a meal with everyone and Lillian tried her first slice of Coconut Cream Pie and she was so cute getting herself covered in pie.

Tomorrow my hope is to get a run in and make sure there is time for my husband to get his run in also. I also have to make falafels for my work potluck this week and try to find some time for me to quilt a bit all in one day. The past few days have been great but also really hard on me. My weight is sky rocketing this pregnancy and I'm starting to feel it a lot. I look at myself and it's all in my bust, belly and butt, so I'm thankful for that, but it's becoming a lot to carry around. I want to keep running as long as possible but part of me is worrying that I won't have the energy soon.

I got a great comment from one of my readers joking that I will be running when I give birth so that has been feeling pumped and wanting to keep running. I find in the evening I'm lucky if I have 50% of my energy left when I get home so trying to run this week after my baby goes to work will be a challenge but I'm up for it and am going to do as much as I can! Let's see how far I will be able to take this running thing. Wish me luck, because I'm going to need it!

Getting back to myself.

Okay so my drugs have kicked in nicely and my head is back to normal. I still have the stuffy nose and cough that goes along with having a cold but that didn't stop me from getting my run on tonight!! I came home today and the weather was G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S so I risked my baby being cranky and hungry and stuck her into the jogging stroller and took a nice stroll around the neighborhood with her. The sun was out, there was no wind, it was around 5 degrees, and we had a lovely time.

Then tonight I took my ipod, which I have missed a great deal since my indoor runs tend to involve my laptop and tv shows, and did another 30 minutes on the treadmill to hit a total of 5km today. So day 1 of 3 for running this week has been done! I feel like a million bucks this week. Not too bad for a woman who's 24 weeks pregnant and getting over a sinus infection!

My mom is coming to visit us this weekend so I'm secretly hopeful that I'll get to have an evening out with my hubby. Maybe a nice quiet dinner while the baby stays with her oma?? A girl can dream right?!

Mystery Solved.

Okay so after 7 days of feeling sick and no signs of improvement I went to see my family doctor today and we have an answer FINALLY! I have not been getting better because it isn't a cold, it's a sinus infection. So now I have fetus friendly medication and will feel better soon now that I'm starting to take  it! So hurray for finding out what is wrong with me and for being able to do something about it.

I hope to be back to my old self soon and am thrilled that I finally know what is up! So my run and brunch is on for tomorrow.

The Funny side of Being a Mom.

Okay so I have a funny mom story to tell today. See this cute little angel here well today she isn't quiet so angelic.

We were getting her ready for her bath and my hubby asked me if I wanted to run the water or strip her. I told him that I didn't care, so he ran the water and I stripped her, grabbed her and headed to her bathroom to pass her off to daddy. As I headed down the hallway I giggled in my head at my hubby's paranoia about carrying Lillian sans diaper since in her 16 months of life she's only peed on me once while carrying her around. I got into the bathroom and talked to my hubby for a few minutes while holding her and all of a sudden we heard it. The "plop plop plop" of baby pee hitting the floor at my feet. So needless to say tonight she peed on me for the second time in her life, and I'm very happy that it was me and not Steve because I think he would have freaked out and probably never carried her without a diaper again.

So I hope you enjoyed my little story and that it made you smile. I had a good laugh about it and handed my baby to her daddy to go be bathed and I went to shower myself.

I'm all sick.

Boo on being sick. Stupid sore throat. I'm greatful to have a husband who can handle the house, the baby and still bring me soup when I'm not feeling well, he even put the baby moniter in my room so I can call him when I need him. So the thing that makes me sad is that this week is the first week that I didn't manage to get my 3 runs or 10km in so I'm a bit sad about that, but my husband has been so nice to me and super supportive today reminding me that I need to take care of myself because I need to take care of our new baby.
Lillian playing with her big bear.
So while some days my husband drives me crazy today he reminded me of what a sweetheart he is. He literally made me spend the day in bed resting, and even did the grocery shopping for me. The only time I went downstairs was to make my mom's chicken veggie soup and some guacamole (don't ask). So I told him not to stress out about the laundry, garbage and recycling today. He is wonderful and was a super daddy and hubby today.
